North Shore Bunkers

Decided to go to north shore to explore some bunkers we read about on a blog. Looked easy enough, almost similar to the Lanikai Pillbox hike. We were told to look for some candy cane ribbons but unfortunately there were none. Or almost none, we saw one ribbon near the end of the trail. We headed up slowly because we didn't want to end up on another hike in the area that was 6 miles long. Fortunately we eventually came across a family and a couple other hikers. The family told us we could follow them because there would be a turn up ahead that we could easily miss. We followed and were reassured by a marker. We spotted the cave mentioned in the blog and were hopeful.

Eventually we reached the first bunker. It was pretty big and it was hard to miss. The view was amazing but somewhat blocked by the trees below. After snapping a few pics we went to explore the bunker.

After exploring for a bit we went to find the second bunker. The view was absolutely amazing. Although somewhat lower than the other bunker, the views are not obstructed by trees and there is a clear view of the north shore. Definitely need to come again during winter swells.
