Puu O Ehu Trail

The news said it was supposed to be rainy but it ended up being a pretty nice day so we decided to try a new hike today instead of going to the popular Lanikai Pillbox Hike. We ended up going to the Puu O Ehu trail and it didn't start too well. While trying to look for street parking we could not find any and ended up parking in the metered stalls. So we couldn't fully enjoy our hike because we were worried about the time limit we had. We had a very difficult time trying to find the trailhead. In the end, we ended up making our own trail and walking through the tall grass.

The views in the beginning

We eventually made it to a somewhat path but some parts were pretty sketchy and it wouldn't take much to fall. Not to mention we had to cross over a barbed wire fence. After the jungle part was over, we reached a cement looking thing buried in the ground and saw a mailbox filled with doggie bags. After this point the trail cleaned up quite a bit. Good timing because we were getting a little worried if we would make it back to our cars in time. The rest of the trail was pretty easy, just keep in mind to stay on the left of the fence.

At the "somewhat" end of the trail. You can go further but we didn't want to push our luck with time so we turned back here. There's a flag on the cement box here that you can see from pretty far away. :)
