Puu Ma'eli'eli

Apologies if I'm not very good at this! It's my first blog entry :) Anyways, today we decided to go back to one of my favorite hikes. It had been raining earlier in the day so we decided to push back the start time of the hike. It was perfect weather, damp enough that the dirt wasn't slippery but not too wet that we would end up landing on out butts. We began the somewhat easy trek up to the top at around 10 a.m. I was pretty excited since this was a hike that not too many knew about, unlike the Lanikai Pillbox hike. However, when we finally got to the bunkers I was thoroughly disappointed to find that apparently quite a few people had found out about this hike since I had last come about a year ago. The bunkers were trashed and there was even a homeless person living inside the one on the end. Nonetheless, the view was amazing and my friends were thrilled to be overlooking K-Bay.

The view from the end looking out towards Kaneohe.

Looking towards Chinaman's Hat.

A plane about to land on base.
